Nottingham Forest lost to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the City Ground, and club owner Evangelos Marinakis was not happy.

Nuno’s Nottingham Forest took on Liverpool at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Evangelos Marinakis not happy after Nottingham Forest defeat to Liverpool

Forest lost the match 1-0. Uruguay international striker Darwin Nunez scored the only goal of the match in the ninth minute of injury time.

Nunez found the bottom corner with a glancing header from Alexis Mac Allister’s cross.

As you can see, The Independent journalist Miguel Delaney has reported that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was not happy at full time and tried to confront the officials.

Forest are now 17th in the Premier League table with 24 points from 27 matches. Nuno’s side are in poor form now and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

Controversial Liverpool goal

Nunez’s late winner for Liverpool against Forest, who are facing a point deduction, was hugely controversial.

Forest players were not happy with referee Paul Tierney. They surrounded him at full time. Coach Steven Reid was shown a red card.

What Forest were not happy with was that Liverpool were given the ball after Ibrahima Konate had gone down with a head injury before before the goal.

Nuno’s side had possession when the game was stopped, but the game restarted with the ball at the feet of Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. The away side kept the ball and did not give it back to the home team.

I understand why Forest players would be so angry, but there is nothing that they can do now. Maybe the team should have defended better in the final moments and should have been more alert.
