What is Yamada's Spring Festival?
This is the annual festival of Tsunemochi Shrine, which is the first festival in the Chichibu region to feature floats. It is also said to be a festival that heralds the arrival of spring on Chichibuji. Three floats (one kasahoko and two floats) gather at Tsunemochi Shrine before 11 a.m., and the festival begins afterwards. In the afternoon, each float departs for the Otabisho, and the festival is held at the Otabisho, Yasaka Shrine, around 3pm. The floats will continue to be towed afterwards.
