Report: Club don't want to sign £40,000-a-week Nottingham Forest player permanently, boss unimpressed

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is facing limbo after it came to light that Besiktas don’t want to sign the player permanently.

The news has been reported in Turkey with The Star getting the exclusive.

So, what has been said about Forest defender Worrall and his form with the Istanbul-based club? Let’s take a closer look…

Besiktas make decision on Forest captain Joe Worrall

Well, it’s proving a disastrous campaign for the £40,000-a-week defender; with the player now failing to make his mark with Besiktas.

Worrall has ultimately swapped the bench at Forest for a similar role at Besiktas and a lack of game time is a concern.

According to The Star, Worrall has failed to impress boss Fernando Santos. Now, he’s decided he doesn’t wish to sign him permanently.

Worrall has made just two appearances for his new club. One of the two was as a substitute in the final minute of a cup match.

The player did help Besiktas to a 0-0 draw against Kayserispor back in early February. Since then, however, he’s been left on the bench ever since.

It’s a worrying situation for Worrall, with the player signing a long-term contract with Forest earlier this season.

Worrall desperately needs games

This must be a really worrying time for Worrall as he contemplates life away from Forest on a permanent basis.

It will be pretty tricky for Forest to get rid of the player in the summer if the Reds remain in the Prmeier League.

There could perhaps be a reprieve for Worrall in the eventuality that the club is relegated this season.

The defender has made 226 appearances for Forest and given this Besiktas situation it remains to be seen if he’s actually made his last City Ground appearance or not.
