Phoenix to host 2027 All-Star weekend

Phoenix will host the 2027 NBA All-Star Game, the NBA announced on Thursday.

"Our NBA All-Star festivities in 2027 will showcase Phoenix's love of everything basketball," said NBA commissioner Adam Silver at a press conference in Phoenix.

"And we couldn't be more excited to work with [Suns chairman] Mat Ishbia and the entire Suns organization for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of our sport."

Although the All-Star Game has been less and less competitive over the years, hosting the match and the surrounding events is considered an honour and in high demand among US cities.

Last month the Eastern Conference defeated the Western one 211-186 in Indianapolis, the highest score ever in an All-Star Game.

San Francisco will host the weekend next year, while the 2026 festivities will take place in Inglewood, south of Los Angeles, in the LA Clippers' new arena which is currently under construction.
