Now, the reality TV star is mourning the sudden loss of her younger sister. Karen Houghton “unexpectedly” died. And, Kris writes how she fears for their mother, MJ, 89, and Karen’s daughter, Natalie, following her passing.
Kris Jenner’s sister Karen Houghton dies
On Tuesday, March 19, Kris shared via Instagram the tragic news of her younger sister’s passing.
Karen Houghton was just 65 years old when she died in San Marcos, California, writes TMZ.
The mom-of-one reportedly required “medical aid,” on Monday, March 18.
TMZ reports: “…a call came in for medical aid around 1:30 PM PT Monday… when deputies arrived, fire officials were already providing lifesaving measures for Karen Houghton, per The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.”
Karen was reported as “deceased” on Monday. The report adds: “The exact circumstances of her passing are unclear, but we’re told county officials are attributing her death to natural causes for now.”
Kardashians star’s ‘heart aches’
On Tuesday, Kris paid tribute to her “beautiful sister.”
Sharing photographs of Karen, Kris wrote in the caption:
“It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly.”
The Kardashians star explained how her “…heart aches” for her mom and niece, Natalie.”
Kris continued: “I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time. Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny. She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter. She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together.”
The 68-year-old added: “Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister.”
Kris’ niece shares heartbreaking post
Following the sudden loss of her mom, Natalie Zettel, Kris’ niece, took to Instagram to pay tribute.
The Kar-Jenners’ cousin, 26, shared photographs of her late mother to social media and began her caption with the words: “Dear Mommy, I can’t believe you’re gone…”
Natalie’s caption reads:
“…This doesn’t even feel real. I keep hoping that I will get to hug you or kiss you or hear your voice one last time. You were my best friend, my everything. The best mother a daughter could ever ask for and I’m so grateful to have had a mother like you. You were the most kind, sweet, loving, giving, and caring soul. You had the biggest heart. And I don’t know how to go on without you. It all happened so quick & I wasn’t ready for you to go. An angel was sent to heaven on March 18th, 2024. I love you mommy and you will forever be missed.”
