Can defo do 2 and make start on a third if you want

TikTok has birthed yet another way to test the stability of your relationship in a viral ‘tiny portion’ trend that is sweeping social media.

Whether you love it, hate it, or want to ban it, TikTok has the tendency to provide its users with a range of viral trends to test out on their unsuspecting families. Only recently we had the “Hear Me Out” crush trend and the act of pouring ketchup on the side to test your boyfriend.

Test your partner’s kindness with tiny portion trend

The general premise of the new TikTok trend is to serve yourself a tiny portion of food and then record your partner’s reaction.

In one rendition, Michelle served herself a small portion because “that’s all we had” and then sat down to eat with her boyfriend, Andy (@andy.and.michelle).

“Babe. What is that,” Andy chuckled. “Why do you have so little? That’s like 5% of what I have.”

After Michelle said they didn’t have enough food, Andy immediately swapped the plates and insisted she eat his portion. His logic was that she was usually full after “2 or 3 bites” so he could finish off whatever she left.

Since posting, their video has amassed over 4 million views, 500k likes, and hundreds of comments dubbing Andy a “massive green flag.”

One person wrote: “He’s not only a green flag he’s literally the whole green forest.”

“No, but that is also reversing diet mentality, insisting to eat till full, to your heart’s content. Just eat however much you can handle. That is so beautiful,” a second added.

The trend doesn’t always pay off

Though you only need some basic manners to pass the test, there are content creators out there failing dramatically at the tiny portion trend. In one video, posted by Zach and Hailee (@zachandhailee), the former continued to munch away as his partner went hungry.

“Why did you give me so much? Why didn’t you split it up evenly?” Zach confessed. “You gotta learn how to split it up evenly. If we’ve only got three eggs, split it up a little better. I mean, you cooked, you did this to yourself.”

As expected, the rest of social media did not jump to Zach’s defense, as one person replied: “Why didn’t you split it evenly…as he continues to eat.”

Another person quipped: “The way he weaponizes your generosity against you to justify his selfishness is wild!”
