TikTok’s ‘I think of you all the time’ song

It’s a song called Someday I’ll Get It by Alek Olsen, which is seemingly about a breakup. The track doesn’t have many lyrics, but is full of emotion.

“I think of you all of the time/ Now that you’re gone,” it begins. “I’ve been doin’ all kinds of drugs/ To get you out of my mind.”

The rest of the song goes: “‘Cause I noticed you don’t like me no more/ And it breaks my heart/ So I’ll just drift away/ And disappear for a while.”

It’s been circling TikTok since 2022, but the track has suddenly gone viral as people talk about their dogs passing away.

Song goes viral with sad dog trend

Many are using the first line of the track to share emotional stories of their pooches dying, revealing that they can’t stop thinking about them.

One video shows a woman staring at a bowl of food that her furry friend never got to finish before they passed.

Another details someone adopting an “old, lumpy and blind” dog and him sadly dying after just 28 days together.

One more gut-wrenching clip sees a golden retriever asking “Why are you crying, Mommy?” to which she replies: “Because I miss you.”

So sad:

Emotional trend has TikTok sobbing

The sad trend is pulling at everyone’s heartstrings this month, and it’s got everyone sobbing.

One person wrote on Twitter/X: “That new dog TikTok trend as me crying my eyes OUTTTT.”

“Whoever started that dog trend on TikTok, I hate you. And that damn song,” said another.

A third person added: “I actually cannot handle that dog TikTok trend, it’s so sad I’ve been crying all night.”

“This dog trend on TikTok got me sobbing for hours now, I’m not okay,” someone else said.

The Humane Society of the United States assures that pet grief is normal and it’s ok to mourn the relationship, even if it goes unacknowledged by others. It’s not a linear process, and you may go in and out of stages of grief, starting to feel better before feeling like a wave of grief has washed over you again.

The process typically begins with denial, they explain, and it’s also normal to feel angry or guilty. After these feelings subside, most people experience true sadness or grief and can become withdrawn or depressed.

Healthy grieving does not mean that you ever forget about your pet, it simply allows you to accept that they’re gone and eventually smile at their memory. The Pet Compassion Careline provides 24/7 grief support with trained pet grief counselors.
