Conjoined twin who survived was afraid of intimacy for 35 years over birth deformity

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 10 years, you’ll surely have heard of hit E! Entertainment TV show Botched. The plastic surgery series follows Dr Paul Nassif and Dr Terry Dubrow as they help people who’ve endured some unfortunate cosmetic mishaps. Botched by Nature was a 2016 spin-off show following other patients who wanted surgery after being “botched by genetics or a traumatic incident.”

The E! Entertainment show saw the doctors head to Addie’s house to meet her and her parents before embarking on life-changing surgery. Addie’s entire world for 35 years had been impacted by something totally out of her control as a newborn. Botched‘s Dr Nassif and Dr Dubrow had to “manage her expectations” when it came to getting the desired results in the 2016 episode.

Addie was a conjoined twin

Ahead of meeting their patient, the Botched doctors get up to speed with Addie’s file on the way to her house.

Dr Terry Dubrow says she was a conjoined twin who was separated after being born and “the other one didn’t make it.”

He added how he and Dr Paul Nassif had a “tricky problem” on their hands with her case: “She’s got a very significant buttock deformity.”

However, judging by the surgeons’ previous work, it seems there really isn’t anything they can’t do these days.

She suffered ’emotional trauma’

Evaluating the patient’s case, Dr Nassif adds: “On top of the emotional trauma of losing a twin, Addie has a severe physical deformity that she’s reminded of it every day.”

The two arrive at Addie’s house who says she’s “very shy” and “overwhelmed” but “grateful” to see the doctors.

She says: “I’m really hoping the doctors are able to help me.”

Addie’s mom is asked what happened during her pregnancy and birth during the show. She explains: “I had an ultrasound, they didn’t see it.”

She thought she was having “one healthy baby” but she later was told by doctors she’d had a “Siamese twin.”

Addie was operated on at a children’s hospital after being born.

Her mom continued: “I never got to see it, they always kept her wrapped, they wouldn’t let me see whatever was attached to my daughter.”

Addie was teased and bullied as a teenager for her deformity, and she explains how she’s never been intimate with anyone because of her shyness as an adult.

A fan commented on the episode’s YouTube video: “…This poor woman.. this was affecting her so badly that she’s 35 and absolutely stunning, but hasn’t ever been intimate. She deserves this so much.”

Addie was looking for a ‘JLo’ transformation

When asked what she’s hoping to achieve with the help of the doctors, Addie cites “JLo and Beyoncé’s” derrierés as those she wouldn’t mind emulating.

After a consultation with the Botched star, Dr Dubrow said he wanted to “manage Addie’s expectations,” of looking like Beyoncé or Jennifer Lopez by the end of her surgery.

Terry said he had “no idea” how he was going to complete Addie’s surgery. But, on the day of the operation, he explained his main aim was to fix the “central concavity” by using liposuction to take fat from other areas of her body.

Following her procedure, he explained how Addie’s operation left her with a high risk of infection due to the location of her incisions.

However, she healed just fine and was on her way to having the confidence to date and find the right person to settle down with.

Speaking after her surgery, she said she “finally felt good about herself”
