Part of the Tapper family on Gogglebox, Josh Tapper is in the running to become the prime minister by 2030. Years after leaving the series, he’s got a chance of getting a seat at the general election.

Josh Tapper has been handed odds of 5/2 with William Hill to win a seat in the next General Election. He left Gogglebox back in 2018 with his sister and parents, after five years of bringing us entertainment.

Gogglebox’s Josh Tapper may be PM

Former Gogglebox star Josh Tapper has been chosen by the Labour party as their parliamentary candidate to challenge the current Deputy PM, Oliver Dowden, for the Hertsmere seat in Hertfordshire.

Despite his short odds to win a seat, Tapper has also been made a 10/1 chance to not get his £500 deposit back if he does not receive at least five percent of the votes.

For the former Gogglebox star to run for London Mayor before the end of 2030 is 33/1, whilst a run for Prime Minister before the end of 2030 looks to be in the distance at a price of 50/1.

The Tapper family’s TV fame

Josh and his family were known as the Tapper family on Gogglebox from 2013 to 2018. Parents Nikki and Jonathan and children Josh and Amy appeared on the show since it started back in 2013.

Josh was just 15 at the time and told The Sun of his experience on the show: “I spent the next five years living that life while also trying to live a normal life,” adding how filming took as much time up as school.

After leaving, they all returned to their day jobs. Dad Jonathon ended up getting work as a chauffer and son Josh began working in politics, which explains how he’s now in the running for PM.
