‘Similar situation’: Arsenal could give 24-year-old player the Folarin Balogun treatment now - Romano

Arsenal have had to sell a number of talented players in recent years in order to balance their books and kick on to the next level.

The likes of Joe Willock and Emi Martinez have had to make way in order for Arsenal to evolve, while Folarin Balogun had to leave last summer so that Arsenal could spend big.

The Gunners know when it’s time to cut ties with a player and cash in, and this summer may well be the end of the road for one player.

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on The Debrief, Eddie Nketiah is likely to leave Arsenal this summer, and the Italian says that he could be given a similar send off to Balogun, claiming that Arsenal will bide their time and wait for the right proposal.

Eddie Nketiah will get the Folarin Balogun treatment

Romano spoke about the striker.

“For Nketiah, that could be an interesting situation in the summer. It could be a similar situation to what happened with Balogun last summer. A waiting game, waiting for the right opportunity and the right proposal. In the end for Balogun it was Monaco,” Romano said.

“For Nketiah there has always been interest from Germany and also the Premier League, we know how much West Ham appreciated him and Crystal Palace, but it’s too early to say if those clubs will return.”

Eddie Nketiah needs a move

This is probably what is best for all parties at this moment in time.

Nketiah jsn’t getting the gametime he deserves, and there have been some suggestions that he is unhappy at the club, while Arsenal themselves need to evolve in an attacking sense if they are to continue challenging at the very top level.

Nketiah is a talented player who would be more than worthy of a decent move this summer, and if he joins the right club, he could shine elsewhere.
