Austria won a ski flying team event at the World Cup Finals held in one round due to high winds on Saturday in Slovenia.

World Cup winner Stefan Kraft, Daniel Huber, Daniel Tschofenig and Michael Hayböck topped the podium 10.5 points ahead of the host team in Planica, with Norway third.

Huber recorded the longest jump of the competition with 244 metres while Slovenian Timi Zajc failed to stand a 242.4m which cost them a possible victory.

The wind picked up after the round was completed, forcing organizers to scrap the second round.

Zajc crashed along with Italian Giovanni Bresadola who was taken away in an ambulance. There had also been crashes in previous days, with Finland's Eetu Nousiainen rupturing a cruciate knee ligament.

The season ends in Sunday with an individual event in Planica. Kraft has already clinched the World Cup ahead of Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi and Andreas Wellinger of Germany.
