Wrexham fans blown away by Paul Mullin clip v Grimsby Town

Wrexham striker Paul Mullin got himself on the scoresheet against Grimsby Town on Saturday but his goal arguably wasn’t his best moment of the game.

Wrexham needed a big response on Saturday after taking just one point from home games against Harrogate Town and Tranmere Rovers.

Few could have expected such a hammering though as Wrexham completely demolished Grimsby inside the first half.

Andy Cannon’s brace had Wrexham 2-0 up before Mullin swivelled and volleyed him number three.

Grimsby’s consolation didn’t even come close to taking the shine off this Wrexham win and Mullin stole the show.

The volley was special enough but his work to set up Cannon’s second goal was unbelievable.

Picking up the ball about 25 yards from the Wrexham goal, Mullin skipped past one sliding challenge before dancing past another.

Mullin laid the ball into Thomas O’Connor, who weighted his pass perfectly for Cannon to fire high into the net.

Wrexham posted the goal on Instagram alongside the words ‘turning defence into attack’.

Others said ‘Paul Mullin is amazing’ and ‘Mullin in his own half, what a play!’

Some called it ‘beautiful football’ and praised Mullin for ‘unselfish team work’ as Wrexham blazed past Grimsby.

Whether it’s scoring goals or setting them up, Mullin will just want to make an impact for Wrexham in the push for promotion.

Mullin is now onto 16 goals and five assists in just 31 League Two games this season, once again proving himself at this level.

The 29-year-old has fans all over the world after his role on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ and moments of quality like this will only make him even more popular around the globe.
