Arsenal injury list

Arsenal face the prospect of some key stars missing their clash with Manchester City through injury. Jurrien Timber is a guaranteed absentee, having picked up a serious knee injury at the start of the season, though he is nearing a return.

Then there’s doubts over a trio of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta giving an update on the fitness of all three.

Jurrien Timber injury latest

Jurrien Timber suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his knee on debut, coming as a major blow to Arsenal. With a long road to recovery, the defender is finally nearing the end of the rehabilitation process.

There is some hope that Timber can return to action before the end of the campaign, with some big games still coming in the weeks and months ahead.

Bukayo Saka injury latest

Bukayo Saka withdrew from the England squad over the international break due to an injury he picked up before the break. A muscle problem has been the main concern for the forward, heading into the tie with Manchester City.

Speaking about Saka and his fellow injured teammates, Arteta told the media, via Football London: “Yeah there is a chance. They haven’t trained. Tomorrow [Saturday] we have another session, so there is a chance they can be available.”

It remains to be seen how many of those Arsenal injury problems will be solved before the clash, with potential mind games in the build-up.

Gabriel Magalhaes injury latest

Key defender Gabriel Magalhaes was another player that was forced to pull out of his international camp over the two-week break. The Brazilian has suffered with an achilles tendon problem, though he is one of those stars that Arteta stated could be involved against Manchester City.

Gabriel Martinelli injury latest

Gabriel Martinelli has been missing from action since the start of March, suffering a foot problem in the 6-0 victory over Sheffield United. There is currently no timeframe for when the winger may return, however he is part of the group that Arteta hinted at a potential return for.
