NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds: Betting lines updated after Richmond

The odds for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series title have been updated following the Toyota Owners 400 at the Richmond Raceway over the weekend.

In controversial fashion, Denny Hamlin came away victorious on Easter Sunday, besting Joey Logano, Kyle Larson and a frustrated Martin Truex Jr. at Richmond. There was a great debate as to whether Hamlin jumped the restart, but NASCAR deemed Hamlin’s maneuver legal, and the No. 11 became the second driver with two wins in 2024.

Ahead of next weekend’s race at Martinsville, there’s a bevy of drivers looking to clinch their spot in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. As the campaign moves forward this weekend, here are the full updated NASCAR Cup Series title odds, courtesy ofFanDuel Sportsbook.

William Byron (+500)

William Byron

William Byron battled all night at Richmond, and ended up coming home P7 when it was all said and done. With another solid performance under his belt, he kept his title as the current favorite to win the NASCAR Cup Series title in 2024.

During last season’s spring race at Martinsville, Byron had some trouble, placing P23 in 2023. We’ll see if he can pull a better finish out at a track where Hendrick Motorsports has so much history, especially the No. 24.

Kyle Larson (+550)

Kyle Larson remains hot on William Byron’s trail this week. He had an eventful night at Richmond, spinning to bring out the final caution of the race, but rebounding to finish P3 after some contact with Bubba Wallace and Martin Truex Jr. to finish his night.

Larson famously has said he’s never expected to win at Martinsville, but that’s exactly what he did in April of 2023. He’ll be looking for a repeat at Martinsville’s spring date this weekend for the No. 5 team.

Denny Hamlin (+650)

Denny Hamlin

After clinching his spot in the playoffs at Bristol, Hamlin became the second driver (William Byron being the other) to win multiple races in 2024. He utilized an awesome pit stop after a timely caution to capture victory at Richmond.

During last season’s spring race at Martinsville, Hamlin came home P4, and he knows the track well. He’ll have a shot at win No. 3, hogging all the checkered flags as the Cup Series remains in Virginia this weekend.

Christopher Bell (+700)

Christopher Bell Shriners Children's 500 Phoenix

Christopher Bell is continuing to prove he’s among the top drivers in the Cup Series week-in and week-out. Even though he dealt with some difficulties at Richmond, Bell still ended up with a P6 finish, handling the struggles the No. 20 team faced well.

He’s raced well at Martinsville in the past, but finished P16 at this date in 2023. Nevertheless, Bell already has a win in 2024, so anything else he can grab is just gravy on top of an awesome start to the season.

Martin Truex Jr. (+800)

Martin Truex Jr. has never been one to not wear his heart on his sleeve, and that’s exactly what we saw when he let off some steam at the end of the Toyota Owners 400. It was his race to win, and a late caution dropped him to a P4 finish, instead of his first victory since 2023.

Thankfully, Martinsville is aptly named for Truex Jr., as he’s a stud at the track. The No. 19 came home P3 at this date in 2023, so he’ll be looking to get some revenge for what happened to him at Richmond by winning this weekend’s race, which is also in Virginia.

Ryan Blaney (+1100)

Ryan Blaney Nashville

Without Martinsville, Ryan Blaney wouldn’t be a NASCAR Cup Series champion. The No. 12 won last fall’s race, locking himself into the Championship 4 and riding that high into Phoenix, where he lifted his first title for Team Penske.

The short-track was awesome for Blaney in 2023, as you can tell, with a P7 finish in the spring race giving him two top tens last season. Richmond wasn’t a great night for Blaney, as he came home P19, so he’ll be looking to rebound this weekend.

Chase Elliott (+1200)

Chase Elliott Phoenix

Perhaps Chase Elliott is finally finding his groove again. He was fast at Richmond, as he brought his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet home with a top five finish, rounding out the group in P5.

Moreover, Martinsville has been kind to Elliott in the past, as he came home P10 during 2023’s first date at the track. NASCAR’s reigning Most Popular Driver Award recipient will be looking to give his fans something to cheer in Virginia.

Joey Logano (+1400)

Joey Logano Phoenix John Hunter Nemechek

Not many drivers have had a worse start to 2024 than Joey Logano. However, that may be turning around, as Logano came close to his first win of the season in Richmond, where he finished as the runner-up on Sunday evening.

Now, the No. 22 will look to do even better at Martinsville. He finished P2 to Kyle Larson at the date last season, so there’s a precedent for the Team Penske veteran to win when the Cup Series goes to the short-track.

Ross Chastain (+1400)

ross chastain

Martinsville will always hold a special place in Ross Chastain’s heart, as he pulled off the infamous Hail Melon at the track, locking himself into the Championship 4 in 2022. He’s been solid at the track aside from that as well, finishing P13 at the spring date in 2023.

Richmond was an interesting evening for Chastain, who came home with a P15 finish. We’ll see if the Watermelon Man can get back to Victory Lane at the track where he became a star in the Cup Series on Sunday afternoon.
