Warren Zeiders Pockets CMT Award for Breakthrough Male Video of the Year

Warren Zeiders won Breakthrough Male Video of the Year at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on Sunday (April 7). He got the nod for his “Pretty Little Poison” video, and he gave an emotional speech.

“I guess first things first … God is good all the time,” he began to cheers from the crowd. “If it wasn’t for Him, I would not be on this stage right now.”

He added that he was trying to keep from tearing up because he had his “best friend” with him: His father, who he said has “been my ride or die my entire life.”

Zeiders took home the trophy in a talented category: His fellow nominees were Chayce Beckham and “23,” Tyler Childers for “In Your Love” and Zach Bryan for “Oklahoma Smokeshow.” It was his only nomination of the night and his first CMT Music Award nod ever.

“Pretty Little Poison” opens with a woman picking a rose, saying, “He loves me, he loves me not,” as a house burns in the background. Zeiders knows she’s poison, and yet he can’t stay away from her. This same woman pops in and out of various scenes with him, indicating that she’s always going to be a habit he can’t kick no matter how toxic she is.
