What Arsenal have now arranged to take advantage of UEFA ban tonight

Arsenal take on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final as Mikel Arteta aims to knock Thomas Tuchel out of Europe.

The German won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea back in 2021 and brings the prolific Harry Kane with him to the Emirates Stadium – a man with 38 goals this season and also one who has hurt Arsenal on many occasions before.

Interestingly, the Emirates Stadium will be 100% Arsenal tonight after UEFA banned Bayern Munich supporters from attending, due to the use of pyrotechnics in their Round of 16 clash against Lazio.

That will – of course – hand Arsenal the upper hand slightly, and the Gunners have now made plans to take advantage of UEFA’s decision…

What Arsenal have planned to take advantage of UEFA ban

Well, in an attempt to make the Emirates Stadium into a fortress against the Bavarians, Arsenal have sent a message to supporters.

As seen on Arsenal’s official website, fans have been asked to wear red to help create a literal wall of red around the pitch, but that’s not all.

The Gunners have also made the matchday programme entirely red, and have asked supporters in possession of one to hold it up during the UEFA Champions League anthem, and also amidst significant moments in the game.

Some are unhappy

One fan was actually quite upset about this decision, hitting out at Arsenal on X for missing a golden opportunity to create a unique stadium wide display, with a more focused message than simply the colour red.

It could also be argued that this is merely a glorified push for fans to purchase the matchday programme – and anyone who does not buy it cannot contribute to the display.

Therefore, you can see why some might be upset, but ultimately, this should be the least of people’s concerns ahead of what is arguably the biggest game in Arsenal’s 2023/24 campaign so far.

Programme or no programme, Arsenal fans will surely get behind Arteta and the players, as the Gunners attempt to win the UEFA Champions League for the first time.
