What Cole Palmer has done this season that has only been matched by Mohamed Salah

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has been smashing a number of records this season in the face of some mediocre team performances.

According to OptaJoe though, there is no player currently in the Premier League who has achieved something as much as he has this season.

While the Blues sit in the mid-table places of the table, this is not the fault of Palmer, who was their last permanent addition last summer.

Palmer the star for Chelsea

He sits on a combined 34 goals and assists in all competitions this season, and has reached tallies in the league that haven’t been seen at this club since the days of Eden Hazard.

It has been estimated that his value has gone up a long way since being brought in, with him worked out to be worth £60m more now than the Blues paid for him.

Supporters are already obsessed by the 21-year-old, with him clearly putting the club on his back for this season.

Palmer and Salah top important goal and assist charts

While he has scored a large portion of his goals from the penalty spot, the strikes have not lowered in significance.

It has now been reported that no player has scored or assisted a winning or equalising goal more than Palmer, with only Mohamed Salah equalling him with 18 points gained.

Salah has been seen as one of the best players in world football over the past few years, and being mentioned alongside him in any statistic is extremely impressive.

Mauricio Pochettino is likely relying on the 21-year-old to have a really strong end to the season in order to help them qualify for European football for next season.

Two seasons in a row with no continental football is something which really can’t happen, however they still need a superb end to the season to come out from the mid-table places they currently linger in.
