3 bad touches, 0 key passes, 67% pass accuracy; one Hammer stunk out the place vs Leverkusen

West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta recorded some truly woeful stats during our 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League last night.

Lucas Paqueta has been outstanding for West Ham this season, there’s no denying that, but his stats last night really were very poor.

The 26-year-old Brazilian will now miss the second-leg back at the London Stadium next week, along with his mate Emerson Palmieri, after picking up a yellow card inside the first-half.

Joe Cole criticised the Hammers star for the needless booking that he picked up during the Leverkusen defeat at the BayArena.

Paqueta wows and infuriates in equal measure – David Moyes has admitted this himself on numerous occasions in the past.

Last night was one of those performances when the silky South American had the Hammers fans, and Moyes of course, pulling their hair out.

The West Ham play-maker’s stats made for truly shocking reading…

Lucas Paqueta stats make for abysmal reading after Leverkusen beat West Ham

The former Lyon man is our talisman. When he’s not on song, we really struggle as a team.

In fact, West Ham haven’t won a Premier League or Europa League game where Paqueta hasn’t played this season.

The Hammers star is vital to everything good we do as a team.

Last night he just didn’t have it though, and his statistics were pretty grim…

Paqueta had no shots at all, made zero key passes and recorded a really poor pass completion rate of just 67%.

He made zero interceptions, lost possession of the football three times and had three unsuccessful touches under no pressure from the opposition (Who Scored).

Those are some really poor numbers and they summed up his all-round performance.

Lucas Paqueta just wasn’t at the races for West Ham against Bayer Leverkusen, and his stats are evidence of that.

It has to be said – the Brazilian let us down last night, as harsh as that may sound.
