Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is certain that striker Niclas Füllkrug will end his goal drought soon.

"If you're a Borussia Dortmund striker and you haven't scored in nine games, then of course that's an issue in the public eye. He knows we rely on his goals," Terzic said in a news conference on Friday.

"One thing is the goals, the other is if you always put yourself at the service of the team. And if you put yourself at the service of the team, you'll soon start scoring goals again. It won't take long for him to get through this phase," the coach said.

On Saturday against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Füllkrug will be supported in the attack by Donnyel Malen, who is fit again after recovering from thigh problems.

Terzic demanded his team to fully concentrate on the game at Gladbach, despite the looming Champions League quarter-final second leg Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. Dortmund lost the first leg in Madrid 2-1.

"The clear focus is on the game tomorrow. We're sure that we'll put up a really good performance."

Dortmund are under pressure in the Bundesliga and, as fifth in the table, need a win if to avoid losing ground in the battle to qualify for the Champions League again.

Dortmund announced on Friday that they will travel to Asia as part of their 2024-25 pre-season. During the tour, the will visit Osaka, Japan, to play a friendly against Cerezo Osaka, the current club of former Dortmund player Shinji Kagawa.
