'Unrecognisable'...Ian Wright shares his instant reaction to Arsenal losing against Aston Villa

Arsenal were beaten well by Aston Villa at The Emirates today and Ian Wright has given his instant reaction to proceedings.

Arsenal went into the game knowing a win would be massive given Liverpool had lost to Crystal Palace earlier in the day.

However, the Gunners never got going and were nowhere near their usual brilliant selves.

Mikel Arteta’s side failed to create the chances like they normally do and in defence, they looked troubled on the break by the pace of Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey.

Indeed, in the end, it was Watkins and Bailey who proved Arsenal’s downfall as they both scored to stun The Emirates.

Of course, it now means City have a two point gap in the title race over both Liverpool and Arsenal.

Naturally, pundits and former players have been reacting to the result and Ian Wright, so desperate to see his beloved Arsenal win the title, has given his instant reaction over on X.

Ian Wright reacts to Arsenal v Aston Villa result

Never one to shy away from being honest about Arsenal, Wright took to social media to offer up his instant thoughts on how the game had gone down at The Emirates.

And summing it up, Wright simply suggested that Aston Villa were just better than Arsenal in everything they did.

Arsenal have to bounce back after Villa defeat

There’s no time for Arsenal to sulk about this one. They simply have to get back on the horse as quickly as possible and get back to work.

A massive game against Bayern Munich is up next and a win in Germany would go a long way to restoring the belief around the club.

From there, Arsenal have crucial games before facing Tottenham in what could be one of the biggest North London Derbies for some time.

Mikel Arteta has work to do with his Arsenal players in the next 24-48 hours.

They cannot go to Bayern with their heads down or they’ll simply be beaten with ease by Harry Kane and co.

The Gunners, then, have got to put this behind them quickly and get back in the right frame of mind.
