Scottie Scheffler entered the 2024 Masters Tournament as the favorite and came out the winner. Scheffler, the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world, took home his second green jacket after posting a 4-under par 68 in the Final Round at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday.

Scheffler, who won his first Masters back in 2022, nearly led from start to finish at Augusta National this year. He entered Sunday’s Final Round atop the leaderboard at 7-under par and though a slow start knocked him down to 6-under par after seven holes, Scheffler wouldn’t be kept down much longer.

At one point, Scheffler, Ludvig Åberg, Collin Morikawa and Max Homa were tied at 6-under par. Scheffler responded by birdieing Nos. 8, 9 and 10 before heading to Amen Corner. After bogeying the Par-4 11th, Scheffler birdied the Par-5 13th, Par-4 14th and Par-3 16th to take a commanding four-shot lead over Åberg.

Scottie Scheffler joins elite company after second Masters victory

Scheffler, 27, is the fourth-youngest player to win the Masters a second time, behind only Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Seve Ballesteros. He is the 18th golfer to win the Masters multiple times. Scheffler, who won his second consecutive Players Championship last month, joins Woods as the only golfers to win the Players and the Masters in the same season. Woods and Scheffler are also the only two golfers to win multiple times at TPC Sawgrass and Augusta National.

Scheffler earned a Masters record $3.6 million with the victory. Aberg, who finished as the runner-up at 7-under par, takes home $2.16 million. The win is Scheffler’s ninth since earning a fully exempt PGA Tour card for the 2020 season. All of his wins have come since the 2022 season.
