“They want San Miguel” - journalist confirms post-Rangers beer hunt for Prem rivals

Ross County have jetted off to Spain in the wake of their historic win over Rangers.

Don Cowie’s men are celebrating following a remarkable first ever victory in Staggies’ history over the Ibrox side this weekend.

But whilst the pre-planned break was set up long before they played Rangers, Ross County’s players are being tipped to enjoy it just that little bit more as a result.

The Scottish Premiership side – who are genuine relegation candidates – are hoping to galvanise their team ahead of the final five matches of the Premiership season.

Ross County jet out after Rangers victory

At least this is according to journalist Roger Hannah, who was speaking on Clyde Superscoreboard (15/04).

After claiming that Don Cowie’s Ross County side deserve all the plaudits they are getting for beating Rangers, Hannah has suggested the Highland outfit will be a tad more receptive to a beer in the sun.

“Don Cowie has taken his squad to Spain today,” explains Roger Hannah. “A pre-planned break to get themselves ready for the post-split fixtures.

“Pre-planned, long before they knew they were beating Rangers.

“So they don’t want our praise, they want San Miguel. It’s as simple as that.”

Gers defeat reminiscent of famous Celtic collapse

Roger Hannah has also been speaking about Rangers’ title credentials following the devastating defeat at Ross County.

The Gers have earned only four points from their last 12 in the Scottish Premiership and have lost the title advantage to Old Firm rivals Celtic.

According to Roger Hannah, the 3-2 defeat in Dingwall is reminiscent of an infamous Celtic defeat to Inverness in 2011 which inspired Rangers’ title victory that season.

“(The Ross County result) took me back to 2011,” said Hannah. “You remember Celtic losing 3-2 at Inverness after the split in 2011?

“Totally out the blue, they weren’t expected to lose up there. They were expected to go up to the Highlands and win with a bit to spare and they lost the game.

“Rangers never looked back and won the league. I think this is the mirror image of that coming now.

“Nobody saw Rangers going there and losing. They blew it in the second half and I think what’s left for them this season, I think it’s an awful long way back.”

Rangers are currently four points off Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, with the Ibrox side boasting a game in hand against Dundee this week.

Now we just have to wait and see where it’s going to be played
