Mama June famously said she never saw Ozempic being a part of her weight loss journey. But now she’s inviting her followers to come along for the journey as she opts for a course of weight loss injections.

WeTV viewers will have seen Mama June Shannon‘s weight loss journey at various points. The reality TV star breaks down how over the past year and a half she “put on a lot of weight.” She explained how the “stress” of being one of her late daughter’s caregivers contributed to her weight gain.

Mama June said she’d “never do Ozempic”

On April 15, Mama June told her Instagram followers how she felt “nervous” before her partner, Justin Stroud, was set to administer her first weight loss injection.

Ready to embark on a new weight loss journey, she addressed her fans: “Hey ya’ll, what’s up? I’m coming at you with a very serious note…”

The TV star revealed how she’s opted in for a course of shots in order to lose weight after she says she gained 120lb in the past year.

Mama June previously said she’d “never take Ozempic,” but it seems she’s now deciding to go down the injection route.

Mama June’s gastric sleeve

In her latest Instagram post, Mama June explains how she had gastric sleeve surgery nine years ago, in May 2015.

Following her surgery, she says she went from weighing 550lb to 311lb.

After that, she adds how she lost even more weight, going from 311lb to 195lb thanks to the operation.

Following her extreme weight loss, Mama June opted for some surgeries including skin removal, chin and back liposuction, tummy tuck, and a breast augmentation.

From there she says she “kept off the weight,” getting down to “130, 140, 150lb.”

She said she looked “super skinny,” but over the last year and a half has put on “a lot of weight.”

Honey Boo Boo‘s mom adds how she “put on 120lb” over the years since and was going to go and have revision surgery, but a doctor suggested she shouldn’t have it done.

She had her eye on weight loss injections

Mama June said she decided she wanted to take the route of semaglutide after “watching people taking mounjaro” and other weight loss injections.

She broke down what her course will involve, sharing how she will take “10 units of semaglutide for four weeks, and then you move up from there.”

She said she’s going to keep her followers updated along the way: “Boys and girls, we’re going to go on this journey together.”

She “thought about going back to the gym, going on the treadmill,” and adds how she lost a lot of weight “pretty damn fast,” the first time around, but is now opting for this route of weight loss.

Rather than basing her weight loss on the scales, Mama June adds how she’s going to show how her clothes fit to judge her results.
