Liverpool told midfielder with ‘enormous potential’ will ‘definitely’ leave his club this summer

According to the latest reports, a midfielder with ‘enormous potential’ on Liverpool’s transfer radar will ‘definitely’ be on the move this summer.

It’s not yet clear what Liverpool will be planning to do this summer. But changes will be afoot.

There will be a new manager coming into the club, and he will want to bring in some of his own players. On the other hand, there will be players who may not fit into the new manager’s plans and will want to leave Anfield for pastures new.

The club’s scouts currently have to prepared for all scenarios and keep a large shortlist of players who Liverpool could target this summer.

One area where Liverpool could still possibly strengthen is the midfield. The Reds brought in four new midfielders last summer, but it still feels like Liverpool are a little bit short in the department.

Georgiy Sudakov Liverpool transfer latest

One player who is reportedly on Liverpool’s transfer radar is Georgiy Sudakov of Shakhtar Donetsk. A highly rated midfielder who is 21-years-old, Sudakov seems like a top prospect.

So far this season he has got ten goal contributions in 28 matches at club level, including a goal against Barcelona in the Champions League.

He’s been in particularly great form recently scoring four goals and registering three assists in his last 10 games for club and country.

Speaking to The Standard, Shakhtar Donetsk’s CEO Sergei Palkin revealed he ‘definitely’ expects Sudakov to be on the move this summer.

“This summer window, he has a big chance to move to some big clubs,” Palkin said.

“We have had some contacts with big clubs and some are not negotiating with us directly but are getting a feel for the summer environment.

“He will definitely move to a top European club this summer. When I was at Chelsea versus Everton on Monday, many people asked me about Sudakov.”

Why Sudakov has been tipped to have ‘enormous’ potential

In the past, his former Shaktar Donetsk reserve coach, Fernando Valente, hailed Sudakov as someone with enormous potential and who was good enough to play for the likes of Manchester City.

“Sudakov is a lad with enormous potential, he could even play for Barcelona or Manchester City. He was the best player I coached and we have a strong relationship,” Valente said as per GOAL.

Based on his recent form, and the high praise it would not be a surprise to see Sudakov making a move to Anfield.

He seems like the perfect under the radar profile that Liverpool like to go for. And he wouldn’t cost a lot of money either.

In the same report as above, The Standard claims Shakhtar Donetsk would be asking for £60m for his services this summer. In this day and age, that is a bargain for a player of Sudakov’s profile.
