'Tricky': David Prutton predicts the score when Leicester face West Brom this weekend

Leicester City are back in Championship action this weekend as they welcome West Bromwich Albion to the East Midlands.

Southampton have now joined the automatic promotion race after defeating Preston North End on Tuesday evening in convincing fashion.

They now reside four points behind Enzo Maresca‘s side and still have a game in hand on Leeds United and Ipswich Town.

With that said, Leicester can’t afford to drop points against West Brom at the King Power Stadium on Saturday and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has just issued his prediction on the clash.

West Bromwich Albion will be without their top scorer this weekend, so Josh Maja is expected to step in having netted in the reverse fixture.

Though, interestingly, that hasn’t prevented Prutton from making a pretty bold prediction.

“It is going to be a tricky tie at the weekend,” the 42-year-old said.

“West Brom, as we know, they seemed to have been fifth for about the last 14 seasons, just kind of hanging in there, brilliantly.

“But they do have work to do with Norwich sniffing around them as well.”

Asked for his prediction, Prutton said: “I’m going to go score draw, 2-2.”

Maresca’s side desperately need a reaction against Albion having suffered back-to-back defeats to relegation-threatened Millwall and Plymouth Argyle.

With league leaders Ipswich in action at Hull City and Leeds having to travel to Middlesbrough, The Foxes’ automatic promotion rivals may well drop points.

So City need to be ready to pounce and must return to winning ways against Carlos Coberan’s side, who are expected to pose a difficult test, as Prutton said.

A criticism of Maresca’s this season has been his striker selection, with Patson Daka so often favoured over the likes of Tom Cannon and Kelechi Iheanacho.

So it will be fascinating to see who starts up top for the hosts, particularly having failed to score in the last two games.

If Leicester can utilise the crowd, as they did against Norwich City and Birmingham City, then they should have just enough to get over the line in a cagey affair.
