Report: Wolves now want to sign 23-year-old who tore Liverpool apart earlier this season

Wolves want to sign a talented player who tore Liverpool apart in the Europa League earlier this season.

Talks of signing a new striker have dominated the headlines at Wolves for a while, and they’re continuing to ahead of this summer.

Gary O’Neil eyed a new forward in January after allowing Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva to depart on loan. Sky Sports journalist Johnny Phillips has recently claimed Wanderers ‘definitely’ wanted to sign Fulham striker Carlos Vinicius in January.

Although a deal for the Brazilian never materialised as only 18-year-old Noha Lemina arrived from Paris Saint Germain, O’Neil continues his search for a new striker heading into the summer, with one talented youngster now said to be on their radar.

Wolves eye move for Union Saint-Galloise striker Mohammed Amoura

According to Foot News, as relayed by Sport Witness, Wolves have joined a growing list of clubs interested in signing Union Saint-Galloise striker Mohammed Amoura this summer.

The report claims that the Belgian giants want at least €20 million (£17 million) for the talented 23-year-old, as Premier League side West Ham United have already been credited with a €15 million (£12.8 million) offer.

Amoura is a wanted man across Europe as his goal-scoring exploits have truly exploded into life this term, with the Algerian netting an impressive 22 goals and supplying six assists in 40 matches.

The hype and interest surrounding his name will only continue to grow as he excels on the biggest stage with one performance in particular adding an extra few million to his value.

Mohammed Amoura tore apart Liverpool in the Europa League

All eyes were on Amoura as Union Saint-Galloise recorded a famous 2-1 victory over Liverpool in the Europa League group stage.

The 23-year-old came up against Ibrahima Konate, a highly-rated defender, but didn’t let that faze him. Amoura scored and assisted on the night, inspiring his side to an incredible win.

Starring against one of the European powerhouses will have significantly increased interest in his signature, but it isn’t the only time he’s impressed in the competition, ranking high against his positional peers.

Having exploded into life in Belgium and on the European stage, Amoura is ready to make that step to a bigger club and Wolves – under the tutelage of O’Neil – could be the perfect place for him to continue his development.
