David Sullivan holds the key to important Luton decision, and he can't afford to get it wrong

West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has to provide David Moyes with the chance of a proper send-off against Luton next month.

On May 11th, West Ham will welcome Luton to the London Stadium, and David Sullivan has a very easy decision to make when it comes to David Moyes.

The Hammers boss is currently under real pressure, and recent reports have claimed that he’s set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Things started to turn sour two months ago, when it was claimed that Sullivan was extremely unhappy with Moyes’s comments to the press, after our 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

However, it has been suggested that no decision will be made on Moyes’s future until the 2023/24 season has finished.

If true, that means that the Scot’s future will still be unclear by the time our final home game of the season against Luton rolls around on May 11th.

That is quite simply unacceptable and Sullivan must ensure that it doesn’t happen…

David Sullivan holds the key to a proper Luton send-off for Moyes

The Hammers co-owner doesn’t really have a decision to make here as far as I’m concerned – he just has to do the right thing.

I think the majority of West Ham fans agree now that Moyes’s time at the London Stadium is up. He’s proven that he’s unable to take us on to the next level.

That shouldn’t diminish the job he has done in charge of West Ham though. The 60-year-old has taken us from relegation candidates when he arrived to three consecutive European campaigns.

In addition to that, he guided us to our first major trophy since 1980 last season! So with that in mind, Sullivan has to give the Scot what he deserves…

If Moyes is to be moved on this summer, that needs to be announced now, or at least before our final home game of the season against Luton in three week’s time.

Even those who are staunch ‘Moyes out’ will surely accept that the Scot has transformed us into a completely different club over the past four years.

Personally, I want a change of manager, but at the same time I’m extremely grateful for what Moyes has done for West Ham.

David Sullivan needs to ensure that David Moyes has the chance to be sent off into the sunset in the correct way by the Hammers fans at the London Stadium.

If his future isn’t resolved until after the season finishes and then he is moved on, it will be a great shame that he never had a proper send-off in our home ground. Surely Sullivan realises this.

Whatever the decision is on Moyes, it needs to be made public within the next three weeks.
