Simon Jordan calls out two Man Utd stars as he sums up culture problem at Old Trafford in post-Sir Alex Ferguson era

TalkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan pulled no punches towards two Manchester United stars after addressing the culture problem at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge.

Considered one of the best managers of all time, Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out of Old Trafford for the final time as Manchester United head coach in 2013.

The Scotsman led United to their last Premier League title at the end of the 2012-13 campaign, with the Red Devils struggling in the aftermath of his departure.

Ferguson was well known for his no-nonsense approach to management and maintained a hard-line culture at the Premier League club under his reign.

The 82-year-old legendary former United manager was not afraid to axe his players from Old Trafford or put them on blast for stepping out of line at the club.

Since Ferguson’s exit from the club, United managers both past and present have struggled to command the same influence at Old Trafford as the iconic Scot.

Simon Jordan takes aim at two Man Utd stars

Current Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has endured his own struggles at Manchester United after arriving at Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo endured a high-profile fallout with Erik ten Hag and the United legend left Old Trafford for the second time and went on to sign for Al Nassr.

Ten Hag experienced a rift with Jadon Sancho this season after he publicly criticised the United winger and explained why he left him out of his squad last September.

Jadon Sancho, who has returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan, was frozen out of the United first team after he criticised the Dutchman in response on social media.

Simon Jordan has spoken out about the culture at United since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement and took aim at two current players under Ten Hag.

The former Crystal Palace chairman took a swipe at Marcus Rashford, who was criticised for his off-field actions after he was spotted at nightclubs this season.

Jordan, meanwhile, called out United captain Bruno Fernandes for his behaviour on the pitch and claimed the Portugal international “can’t control his emotions.”

“That’s where the culture of the club becomes really prevalent,” he said in his column for The Daily Mail.

“Senior players should be setting good examples but we’re not seeing that at United.

“You’ve got Marcus Rashford going to high-profile nightclubs on his birthday after United had been obliterated by City and soon after missing training after a boozy night out.

“You’ve got Bruno Fernandes forever waving airplanes down on the pitch because he can’t control his emotions.

“If the values and central principles of the club were right, you wouldn’t have these issues that appear to be a staple diet at United.”

Gary Neville highlighted Man Utd culture problem

Gary Neville has been vocal with his criticism about United’s up-and-down season under Ten Hag and the problems at the Premier League club.

The United legend claimed that the Red Devils’ famed ‘Class of ‘92’ “wouldn’t be successful” at Old Trafford if they had emerged onto the scene today.

Neville, who was part of the ‘Class of ’92,’ claimed that the current climate at United would have set up his former teammates for “failure” at the club.

Speaking after United’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City earlier this season, he said: “These are not bad lads in this dressing room, but there is a real feeling of low [morale] at the club.

“If we [the Class of ‘92] had come into the club at this moment in time, in this environment, we wouldn’t be successful.

“As talented as the group I came through with – Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Paul Scholes – if they came into this environment today, they would be set up for failure.

“So, I don’t blame these players anymore.”
