Report: Wolves now scouting 'incredible' player with more goal involvements than Kevin De Bruyne in 23/24

With the transfer window fast approaching, Wolves have been linked to several talented players, including one hailed as ‘incredible’.

Under the circumstances he walked into, Gary O’Neil has done a fantastic job at Wolves.

Expecting a relegation tussle in the Premier League, the Wanderers have challenged for Europe until injuries struck a dagger through their chances.

O’Neil’s men are now almost accepting mid-table mediocrity but having been knocked out of the FA Cup quarter-finals by Coventry City, there is a sense of what could have been for Wolves.

Their recent downfall can be put down to injuries as Fosun didn’t adequately strengthen the Old Gold last summer and in the January transfer window.

That was due to spending restrictions as fears of breaching FFP regulations emerged.

Fosun must now arm O’Neil with the funds to bolster his depleted squad; the ball is said to be rolling on that front, with the Wanderers scouting a talented midfield maestro.

Wolves scout Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara

A midfield duo of Joao Gomes and Mario Lemina have formed the bedrock of their success this season.

Manchester City loanee Tommy Doyle has also sprinkled class into the middle of the park, with O’Neil desperate to bring the 22-year-old in permanently.

Midfield is the one area that has a plethora of options, but that hasn’t stopped Wolves from looking at Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara.

According to GIVEMESPORT, the Wanderers have joined Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest in sending scouts to watch the Brazilian, who has lit up the Championship this term.

Interest has spiked in the 24-year-old having watched him produce 13 goals and 12 assists in 48 outings for the Canaries, a total that eclipses Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

Dubbed “incredible” by talent scout Antonio Mango, Norwich have slapped a £30 million price tag on his head. That fee could price Wolves out of a deal, although successfully selling Pedro Neto could facilitate a move.

What Gabriel Sara would bring to Wolves

Norwich teammate Kenny McClean has branded Sara as the “full package”, with his all-round game flourishing in the second tier.

David Wagner’s midfield metronome has decimated the division with his sheer class, including his ability to glide forward with the ball, play progressive passes and score goals.

Below is a table of Sara’s statistics this term and where he ranks among midfielders in the Championship.

As a result of his incredible performances, the diminutive playmaker was named in the Championship Team of the Season and has a bright future ahead of him.

Sara will almost certainly depart Carrow Road if Norwich remain in the second tier and given Wolves crave an individual to grab more goal contributions from midfield, the 24-year-old would be an astute piece of business.
