Ange Postecoglou has been seriously impressed in training this week by player who’s yet to play for Tottenham

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has now been left seriously impressed with one young prospect this week in training.

After their dismal defeat on Tyneside this time last week, Tottenham now have a two-week break from football before their game next weekend against Arsenal.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side really did disappoint in their trip to St. James’ Park last week with the game against Newcastle United showing there is still room for improvement.

This has left the players with time to work on their game at Hotspur Way ahead of the North London Derby coming up next Sunday.

A number of players could now find themselves playing their final games as a Spurs player with the summer transfer window on the horizon.

However, there it could also be the start of one youngster’s career in north London with Postecoglou calling up some young talent over the last week in training.

And it has now been said one has impressed him massively which has seen him keep his spot in the squad all week.

Tottenham youngster has seriously impressed Ange Postecoglou in training

The Tottenham academy has seriously impressed this season with the U21s squad looking set to get their hands on the Premier League 2 title.

Players like Will Lankshear and Jamie Donley have been showing their ability with sensational individual seasons.

Donley has even been handed a number of cameo displays in the first team by Postecoglou this season.

However, opportunities have been hard to come by, on the whole, for the young Spurs talents.

The improvements made in the first team compared to what was on display last season has seen Postecoglou put together a solid selection of players.

And the young prospects have really struggled to work their way into his plans so far.

Earlier in the week, it was reported 16-year-old Mikey Moore had been called-up to training with the first team.

And now, Alasdair Gold is claiming the youngster has impressed so much that Postecoglou has kept him in the first team squad all week.

Along with Postecoglou, the coaches are also said to have been left impressed with Moore’s performances this week as he’s trained alongside Heung-min Son.

Although a call-up to the matchday squad for next week is unlikely, this is a positive step for the 16-year-old’s development in north London.

It really has been a mighty season for Wayne Burnett’s U21s side this season as they look to complete the league and cup double.

But two of the shining lights have been the attacking duo of Donley and Lankshear who have really shown their quality this season.

Here is a summary of how the pair have performed across all competitions.

Although the game against Arsenal may not be the one to do so, with James Maddison struggling for form and Richarlison out through injury, this is a duo which Spurs fans will surely want to see given a chance.
