Report: What Everton sources are now saying about the immediate future of Sean Dyche

Everton have been a club happy to trade managers with alarming ease under Farhad Moshiri’s misguided leadership.

The Iranian businessman, who assumed control of the Toffees in 2016, has overseen seven different permanent changes in the dugout, having most recently settled on Sean Dyche.

And despite the former Burnley man having worked admirably with his hands tied behind his back, some have recently called for his head following an abysmal run of form which has seen them dragged back into a relegation dogfight.

We have since learned the internal feeling within the club regarding this outside pressure.

Everton insiders drop their verdict on Sean Dyche

This latest report, penned by iNews, seeks to detail exactly why Dyche’s position at Everton is supposedly not under threat.

And in affirming that point, they even offer sources from within the club, highlighting the internal feeling on the 52-year-old tactician.

Journalist Mark Douglas writes: ‘An Everton insider previously told i that one of Dyche’s biggest qualities was his calmness, which had been vital during last season’s ultimately successful relegation fight.

“I can’t imagine many managers would have been able to absorb all of the things that he has had to contend with since he came to Everton and still rolled up their sleeves and got on with it,” they said.’

Is Sean Dyche the best man for the job?

Whilst some might not want to hear it, given he has made some highly questionable decisions over the season that have seen him lose favour with some, Dyche is undoubtedly the best man Everton could hope to have at the moment.

After all, given the current restrictions imposed upon them, there is little option they have anyway.

He simply has to remain their manager, as they both cannot afford to sack him and cannot afford to source a replacement.

But realistically, despite reservations over his style of play, there are few who know how to navigate a relegation battle as expertly as he.

He boasts a pragmatic, conservative system which should keep Everton solid enough to silence most opposition, and direct enough to threaten at times on the break.

Given the lack of quality within the squad, there is little else he could possibly do. Monday night exposed that woefully when they attempted to play a little higher up.

The restrictions imposed on this team are not solely of his own doing, yet he will always have to take the brunt of the fans’ frustration.

People need to realise that, whilst he is not perfect, he is the best that a talent and confidence-shy side like Everton can hope for at this time.
