TV show's robot contestant gets more fans than real people - 'cast got me rooting for AI'

The Circle: A Social Media Competition returns for a brand new batch of episodes this April. Season 6 kicked off on April 17 and introduces viewers to a fresh cast of players. One of the contestants is Max – an AI robot fans seem to have taken a liking to more than its human counterparts.

Judging by viewers’ tweets via X (Twitter), The Circle season 6 fans aren’t impressed with the casting team this season. With Lauren, Cassie, Brandon, and co all playing their best to become most popular, it looks like they may as well not bother as Netflix fans already want to see AI bot Max “in the final.”

The Circle season 6 fans love Max

A quick glance at social media since The Circle kicked off and its clear to see fans adore AI addition to this year’s cast, Max.

The robot contestant is clearly a sign of the times, the idea of the game is to win a social media competition and AI is all over the web these days.

But, who’d have thought that Max would actually come out on top when it comes to viewers’ opinions.

While some do tweet how they think the idea is “dumb,” and “rigged,” more wrote:

“The circle p***ing me off like why y’all got this talking air fryer playing the game…”

Some even tweeted: “Nobody suspecting Max is killing me! He’s outplaying these humans, I’m scared.”

But, more were convinced “the robot” is “leaving a better first impression than the actual people…”

Another said: “The fact I want the AI to win this season is really telling.”

More fans swear they’re not throwing shade but tweet: “…this season cast got me rooting for the AI…”

The Circle fans are cracking up

While some fans admit they’re “terrified” of the addition of AI to the Circle cast, more are cracking up at the fact one of the other contestants seems to be getting on so well with the robot.

One person tweeted: “Oh my God please don’t tell me Lauren falls in love with the AI….”

Another said: “Lauren catching feelings for an Amazon Echo is sending me.”

Lauren appears to have become a fan-favorite too, but fans are concerned she’s catching feelings for chatbot Max early on in the show.

Although fans can all see Max isn’t real, in Lauren’s eyes, he’s the “26-year-old veterinarian” The Circle decided to play him as.
