Emery told that ‘exceptional’ Aston Villa ace is becoming ‘more important’ after Bournemouth display

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has now been told of the importance of one of his players after earning high praise for his ‘exceptional’ performance against Bournemouth.

Aston Villa felt the energy of their home crowd at Villa Park this afternoon, as Unai Emery’s tired squad came from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-1 in the Premier League.

Goals from Morgan Rogers, Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey saw the hosts turn the game around after Dominic Solanke’s first-half penalty, earning a crucial three points in the race for the top four.

It was a fantastic effort from Villa to find the resilience to come back from being a goal down, with most of the squad having played a part in the Villans’ dramatic Europa Conference League win on Thursday.

The Midlands club played for 120 minutes and endured a penalty shootout in France just three days ago, making the three points gained against the Cherries even more satisfying.

There were many top performances on the day for Emery’s spirited side, with one name standing out as one of the best for his dazzling display.

Morgan Rogers was ‘exceptional’ for Aston Villa against Bournemouth

Lauded as ‘exceptional’ by journalist Ty Bracey for his performance against Bournemouth was 21-year-old Morgan Rogers, who not only scored but was a bright spark throughout for the hosts.

The Englishman has proven just how much of a good signing he was by Emery and Monchi in January, with his display on Sunday afternoon another insight into why the Villans insisted on purchasing him from Middlesbrough.

As per Sofascore, the versatile attacker completed two out of three of his attempted dribbles, recorded one key pass, won five ground duels and of course, scored against Bournemouth.

The best part about Rogers’ performance was that it wasn’t unexpected, as he continues to flourish in his new surroundings and when given freedom by the manager.

Unai Emery told Morgan Rogers is becoming ‘more important’ for Aston Villa

During the game, journalist Dan Bardell spoke highly of the 21-year-old’s display, insisting that the youngster is becoming ‘more important by the week’ for Emery’s squad.

“Morgan Rogers’ time shouldn’t have been now, but it is, and he’s making the very best of it and getting more important by the week.”

When Villa signed Rogers in January for a mere initial fee of £8m, not many could have expected just how much of an impact he’d have in the Premier League so soon into his career at Villa Park.

His dynamic displays and versatility have made him an impossible figure for Emery to ignore, with all signs pointing to an extremely bright future for both player and club.
