Former Chelsea manager was spotted watching Liverpool in the stands against Fulham today

There was a former Chelsea manager watching Liverpool in action today who is currently out of the job.

Away from the pitch, the most interesting thing about Liverpool at the moment is the club’s future. With Jurgen Klopp leaving at the end of the season, everything is still up in the air.

Ruben Amorim seems to be the frontrunner for the job at the moment, but he is not the only candidate. Liverpool are still exploring other options.

The club will take its time. It’s not a decision you want to rush. Unlike some other Premier League clubs, Liverpool think about their managers in the long-term, which means the club will want to get this appointment right.

Jose Mourinho spotted watching Liverpool at Craven Cottage

Given all the speculation, it’s therefore interesting that Jose Mourinho was spotted watching Liverpool take on Fulham at Craven Cottage today.

As shared by the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele and as you can see on the image above, Mourinho was sitting in the stands to watch the game.

The Portuguese manager is currently out of a job after leaving AS Roma earlier this season, and it’s interesting that he chose to watch this game out of all the other games he could have watched today.

What could Jose Mourinho’s appearance mean at Craven Cottage?

It’s important not to jump to conclusions. Mourinho, with his pedigree, could absolutely be a candidate for the Liverpool job.

However, there could be a variety of other reasons why he decided to watch Liverpool on this Sunday afternoon.

Firstly, Mourinho has managed several London clubs including Chelsea, on multiple occasions, and it’s possible he still has property in the region.

So it’s also entirely possible that just like any of us as a civil citizen, he simply felt like watching a game of football and that game happened to be Liverpool’s match against Fulham.

Only time will tell why he was really there at Craven Cottage. Or perhaps we will never truly find out.
