'I don't believe...' Mauricio Pochettino says key Chelsea star could miss Arsenal clash

Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that one of Chelsea’s key players could now miss tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Arsenal.

The Gunners welcome the Blues at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday with Arsenal aware that a win against their London rivals will be massive in their bid to win the Premier League title with Liverpool and Manchester City still in the race.

Arsenal drew with Chelsea earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge, yet the Blues have been again disappointing this campaign even having spent close to £1bn under new owner Todd Boehly and appointing a top manager in Pochettino.

And the west London side could now be without arguably their best player tomorrow.

Cole Palmer could miss Arsenal clash after picking up illness at Chelsea

Speaking to the press via Alex Howell, Pochettino revealed that there is a chance that Cole Palmer could miss tomorrow’s game against Arsenal due to illness, with Chelsea posting on their official website that the attacking midfielder missed training today.

Pochettino said when asked about Palmer’s fitness: “We will see tomorrow. We need to assess tomorrow morning. Today I don’t believe he can be involved but we need to asses him and then decide. If he will be good tomorrow maybe he is not in a condition to play.”

With 20 Premier League goals this season, Palmer has been the breakout star in England this year after making the move from City to Chelsea, with the 21-year-old star set to be named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2024 Euros.

Yet for Arsenal, Palmer being out for tomorrow’s game is nothing short of massive, with the former City academy star arguably the only Chelsea player who can cause the Gunners any sort of problem.

Arsenal will feel they can claim huge London derby win tomorrow

Palmer has been the only bright spark for Chelsea this season, with the forward establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League and a player who could become a legend for the Blues.

Yet with the youngster now potentially out for tomorrow’s game against Arsenal, the north London side will feel confident in getting a massive result against Chelsea, something every Gooner will want to see.

Indeed, three points will go a long way in Arsenal winning the Premier League, and Palmer missing the game could swing the tie in Mikel Arteta’s favour in a massive way.
