Ole Miss guard Brandon Murray enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

Petre Thomas | USA TODAY Sports

Ole Miss’ Brandon Murray has entered his name into the transfer portal.

This will be Murray’s fourth transfer in his college career to what will be his fourth different program. He started his career at LSU, transferred to Georgetown, and then came to Ole Miss for this past season.

In total, Murray has appeared in 83 career games, including 62 starts with almost all of those coming while with the Tigers in Baton Rouge and the Hoyas in Washington D.C.. During that time at his trio of schools, he has averaged 9.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 40.6% from the field and 33.1% from three.

In 23 games as mostly a reserve in Oxford, Murray posted career lows at 4.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 38.1% overall. He did hit a career-high at 35.7% from deep but it was on low volume at well under 0.5 makes from distance per game.

Murray, a Bradenton, Florida native, is a product out of IMG Academy. He was a four-star prospect there as the No. 80 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as a Top-20 SG in the class and a Top-15 player out of Florida along with five of his teammates at IMG.

Murray was part of the No. 27 recruiting class for LSU in ’21, which was the program’s final under Will Wade. He was the group’s second-highest rated recruit behind only Efton Reid, who he attended IMG Academy with and who also has transferred at least three times so far in college.
