Dyche forced to drop £100k-a-week player, 19-year-old makes first PL start: Predicted Everton XI vs Liverpool

Everton are back in Premier League action again tomorrow night, as they have to put Sunday’s stunning victory to the side to focus on the new task at hand.

And what a task it is, welcoming Liverpool to Goodison Park knowing a win or a draw could curtail their title ambitions for good.

Having established a far healthier gap between themselves and the bottom three, the pressure on Sean Dyche’s side has been massively alleviated. Perhaps, they could therefore play with an element of freedom tomorrow, against a side in fine form.

However, as is always the case, there are a few knocks for the 52-year-old to contend with. It will be interesting to see what kind of a team he puts out against the Toffees’ bitter rivals.

Predicted Everton XI vs Liverpool

It is expected that Dyche will make just three changes from the side that started Sunday’s victory over Nottingham Forest.

Jordan Pickford reminded everyone why he remains one of the first names on the team sheet in that clash, bouncing back from his wobble at Chelsea to put in an outstanding display.

His point-blank save from Chris Wood was the pick of the bunch, as he helped his side earn a hard-fought clean sheet in a must-win match.

These heroics were aided by the resolute back four in front of him, although Ashley Young could perhaps make way in this fresh all-important match.

After all, he was perhaps fortunate not to concede at least one spot kick against Forest, and the last time he faced off against Luis Diaz he gave away a penalty and was sent off.

Ben Godfrey might have to come in, as the only other viable option, with James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko making up the rest of the defence.

Idrissa Gana Gueye was another exceptional performer from the weekend, and his place therefore must be assured.

However, perhaps in an effort to assert more control in the engine room, Dyche could recall Amadou Onana to play alongside him and push Andre Gomes further up the pitch.

This would allow Abdoulaye Doucoure some much-needed rest, before bringing him on to cause issues with his energy and goal threat later in the game.

Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison have to retain their spots on either wing too, but up front marks a position of real contention.

After all, despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin starting against the Tricky Trees, the 27-year-old was brought off after just 67 minutes, having received treatment just before.

Then, the replacement for the £100k-a-week marksman was later carried off on a stretcher, with Beto having received a nasty blow to the head.

That therefore leaves the door wide open for Youssef Chermiti to receive his first-ever Premier League start.

The 19-year-old has only made a handful of first-team appearances since joining in the summer, but might have to be called upon to try and make himself a hero.
