Today (April 23) marks Louis’ sixth birthday, and sticking to tradition, Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared an adorable new photo of their youngest.
Every year, on her children’s birthdays, Kate Middleton takes and posts a new picture to celebrate the occasion. However, due to her recent cancer diagnosis and Photoshop fiasco, doubts were raised on whether she’d partake in the tradition this year. But she’s not letting anything stop her as she and Prince William share the adorable photo of Prince Louis on social media.
Kate Middleton releases new picture of Prince Louis to celebrate 6th birthday
Taking to their Instagram account, the Prince and Princess of Wales the pic of their youngest beaming while lying on the grass.
“Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis!” the caption began. “Thank you for all the kind wishes today.” The post concluded with a camera emoji, alongside the words The Princess of Wales, noting that Kate took the pic herself.
It’s the first post we’ve seen of the little one since the ‘edited’ family photo, in which the Princess of Wales issues a public apology after picture agencies issued a kill notice.
The comments were flooded from fans wishing the 6-year-old well on his birthday, and many couldn’t believe how much he looked like his older brother, Prince George.
“Louis looks so much like George here!” exclaimed one.
“There’s so much personality in his face. I bet he is wonderful to have as your baby,” another user gushed.
A third penned: “A very Happy Birthday to Prince Louis! What a beautiful photo The Princess has taken – as she always does.”
The Prince’s hilarious first words were different to most children
Louis’ life is vastly different to regular children, and so were his first words, apparently. Most children first open their mouths to say ‘mama’ or ‘dada,’ but it seems like the young Prince was calling out for Mary Berry.
In December 2019, the Princess of Wales took part in A Berry Royal Christmas, alongside the TV Chef, where she made the surprising revelation.
“One of Louis’ first words was ‘Mary’ because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf,” the mom of three said.
“Children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say ‘That’s Mary Berry’ … so he would definitely recognize you if he saw you today,” she told Berry.
