'Hopeful': Sean Dyche suggests 27-year-old Everton player could be back fit to face Liverpool

Sean Dyche has suggested he could have one player back available for Everton’s Merseyside Derby clash against Liverpool tomorrow evening.

The Toffees are looking to build on their impressive 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday and pull themselves further away from the bottom three.

Dyche’s men are currently five points ahead of Luton Town who occupy the final relegation berth at present.

Wednesday’s clash takes on added significance, considering it’s Jurgen Klopp’s final derby clash. The German is also eyeing what would be a historic league title to bring to an end his time at Anfield.

Beto led the line for Everton on Sunday before being forced off with a nasty head injury. The Portuguese forward won’t feature at Goodison Park, which could see Dominic Calvert-Lewin return.

Speaking in his latest press conference, Dyche has shared the latest on the Englishman, who missed Sunday’s victory over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

“He’s [Calvert-Lewin] hopeful he’ll be back,” Dyche explained.

“We will wait and see till tomorrow but hopeful on that one.”

Everton desperately need Dominic Calvert-Lewin against Liverpool

Beto’s injury now means Calvert-Lewin’s presence is all the more important. Behind the Englishman, it’s fair to say the Toffees’ forward options are incredibly limited. Starting Youssef Chermiti against Liverpool’s imperious defence wouldn’t end well.

Calvert-Lewin provides the Blues with an out ball that could be crucial. Considering Everton have struggled for goals, starting Wednesday’s clash without a recognised number nine would make life extremely difficult.

Dyche will be under no illusions of just how significant a win will be for the Toffees. The prospect of Everton putting a serious dent in Liverpool’s title hopes is a tantalising one. A packed-out Goodison Park could prove a tricky challenge for Klopp’s side to overcome. And considering the Reds’ recent poor form, there’s every chance of an upset.
