Report: Mauricio Pochettino has not been convinced by 23-year-old Chelsea player so far

Reports have shared that Mauricio Pochettino has so far not been convinced by one Chelsea player this season.

According to the Evening Standard, the boss has doubts about one of his players’ ability to do the dirty side of the game, and remain tactically switched on.

Players have struggled for a number of reasons to become consistent starters sincePochettino took over at the club, with this being down to a number of reasons.

Chelsea injury list

Normally it has been injuries that have been the reason for this, with a number of top stars missing for large portions of the season.

This has notably unfortunately happened to Christopher Nkunku, who many expected to be the key to the attack fully flowing at Stamford Bridge.

This has offered the opportunity elsewhere, with players like Mykhailo Mudryk being handed the chance to prove they should be in there every week.

It has certainly not come off up to now, with it remaining only glimpses that Chelsea fans have seen of the Ukraine international at his best.

Mauricio Pochettino not convinced by Mykhailo Mudryk

Some have wondered at times why the 23-year-old has not been given more chances, especially off the back of some strong performances too.

However, it has now been claimed that the boss is still not convinced by all areas of his game, with him most notably not being impressed by his ability defensively and tactical awareness.

It is a criticism that has been thrown the way of Mudryk numerous times since he arrived just over a year ago, and it remains to be seen whether he will have the opportunity to begin to prove those critics wrong tonight.

The Blues are up against Arsenal, a team he very nearly could have joined before making his move to Stamford Bridge, and a side who he found the net against earlier this season in thrilling fashion.
