Jurgen Klopp has been signing one Liverpool star’s praises in his press conference and said he has turned ‘world-class.’

With all the chaos surrounding Liverpool’s managerial appointment, it’s easy to forget there is a game on tomorrow.

Liverpool are set to take on Everton in a must win game at Goodison Park that could determine the fate of the Reds’ season.

Ahead of the match, Jurgen Klopp sat down with reporters to preview the game and answer questions. During his press conference, he signalled out one of his ‘outstanding’ Liverpool players for special praise.

Jurgen Klopp explains how Trent Alexander-Arnold turned world-class

We are getting to the end of Jurgen Klopp’s time as Liverpool manager. And when we reflect back upon it Trent Alexander-Arnold has been one of the most permanent fixtures in the team during Klopp’s era.

Under Klopp, Alexander-Arnold has grown from a scrawny 18-year-old making his debut to the club’s vice-captain and one of the best players in the world in his position.

In his press conference today, Klopp was asked to reflect back on Alexander-Arnold’s journey and the Liverpool boss explained why he thinks his protege is world-class now.

“Fantastic player from the first day,” Klopp said as per Liverpool’s official YouTube channel.

“Outstanding talent turned into an outstanding world-class football player.

“It’s pretty rate as a manager as well that you are part of such a journey for such a long time. Trent never had a different manager in professional football, so it will be good for him to get new influences in the future.

“But I think he can be quite happy with the steps he made and you see him now playing and you see just what a good player he is. It’s crazy.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s world-class numbers this season

According to Wyscout, Alexander-Arnold ranks in number one spot for the following metrics in the Premier League this season:

  • Passes to the final third (13.78 per 90)
  • Passes to the penalty area (6.03 per 90)
  • Progressive passes (14.87 per 90)
  • Through passes (3.16 per 90)

That’s a pretty impressive accomplishment and proves Klopp’s words. The 25-year-old is simply world-class.
