Arsenal fans have now made their feelings clear about the performance that Ben White produced against Chelsea on Tuesday night.
Ben White was sensational as Arsenal put Chelsea to the sword at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners thrashed their capital city rivals by a 5-0 scoreline to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table and heap pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City in the title race.
Martin Odegaard mesmerised Arsenal fans with his playmaking efforts against the Blues. Meanwhile, Kai Havertz came back to haunt his former club with two second half goals.
The biggest surprise on the night though was delivered by White, who bagged an unlikely brace of his own.
Ben White shines for Arsenal v Chelsea
The right-back is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium, and is highly thought of by Mikel Arteta, but he is not known for his goalscoring. Prior to this outing, he had only ever scored four Premier League goals for the North London club, having represented them more than 100 times in the competition.
Defensively, the 26-year-old has been solid all season. White was recently hailed by his Arsenal teammates for his “warrior” spirit. He can be relied upon to play through pain, and battle hard against tough opponents.
White recently demonstrated his elite mentality with a fearless performance against Bayern Munich when many of his Arsenal teammates looked to struggle to cope with the occasion.
He is also capable of making an impact in the final third, too. He has developed a fantastic understanding with Bukayo Saka on the right flank, and showed fantastic penalty box instincts to tuck away his first goal against Chelsea.
There was certainly an element of fortune about his second strike, as his mis-hit cross looped into the top corner, but he earned that good luck with a clever run into the box.
Arsenal fans heap praise on Ben White after Chelsea display
Arsenal fans were quick to praise White for his display against Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
