Joe Cole taunts Arsenal fans despite their 5-0 win over Chelsea last night

Pundit Joe Cole has now taken a sly dig at Arsenal fans off the back of their devastating win over Chelsea last night.

He told TNT Sports that he thinks some of the celebrations he saw from the home fans was a tad over the top when taking into consideration the situation they find themselves in.

Arsenal extended their temporary lead at the top of the table, although games in hand will play a factor still in the long run.

Chelsea lose 5-0 to Arsenal

Despite that, they will be more than happy with their nights work against the Blues, with goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic keeping the deficit at just five goals with some fine saves.

In a game where Mauricio Pochettino’s side were missing Cole Palmer from their squad, the rest of the squad failed to step up and show they were much more than a one-man team right now.

Instead, they were beaten heavily, leaving the home fans overjoyed with the result.

Cole did have a point to make regarding their reaction however, saying he thinks it was a bit excessive considering winning the Premier League is very much not in their hands right now.

He said: “I heard fireworks from the Arsenal fans. I think [celebrations] are a bit early with five games to go! It’s a bit too much.”

Chelsea will meanwhile have to look ahead to their next game against Aston Villa on Saturday, with their hopes at qualifying for Europe fading every week.

Many will be crossing their fingers for Palmer to return to fitness, with Pochettino hinting there will be a check today on if he will make it.

The Argentine seemed to not be willing to hand Carney Chukwuemeka a chance to impress in his absence yesterday, despite the fact that he seemed the perfect replacement available for the former Manchester City man last night.
