Former Arsenal star blown away by one player vs Chelsea, he was 'on a different level'

Former Arsenal star Adrian Clarke was blown away by one player last night in the Gunners’ 5-0 win against Chelsea.

The north London side produced one of their best performances of the season with a huge result against their capital rivals, with Chelsea fans even praising Kai Havertz at full-time after scoring a brace at the Emirates Stadium.

With Arsenal now sitting three points clear of Liverpool in the Premier League standings, last night’s win was one of the best and most convincing the Gunners have showcased all season, with Chelsea looking ordinary.

And Clarke was full of praise for one Arsenal star in particular after the full-time whistle.

Martin Odegaard lauded as Arsenal beat Chelsea 5-0

Speaking on the Breakdown Live, Clarke showered Martin Odegaard with praise after the Arsenal captain produced one of his best performances yet for the north London side, with the midfielder equalling Mesut Ozil’s chance creation record of eight against the Blues.

With two assists, it could have easily been more for Odegaard had his Arsenal teammates been more lethal in front of goal, with the Norwegian international pulling all the strings and making a mockery of Chelsea’s entire squad.

Indeed, Odegaard showed why he is one of the best midfielders in the world on Tuesday night, and Clarke was simply blown away by what he saw from the former Real Madrid playmaker against Chelsea last night.

Clarke said: “Some of the football, some of the interchanging was glorious, Odegaard was just on a different level, but everybody played their part in one of the great wins here at the Emirates, wins don’t get much better than this.”

Odegaard brilliance can inspire Arsenal to the Premier League title

Four games remain for Arsenal this season as the north London side know that they’ll have to win each fixture if they’re to stand within a reasonable shot of claiming the Premier League title.

And Odegaard’s magical performance last night against Chelsea could be a source of real inspiration for the Gunners heading into the last games of the season, starting with Sunday’s massive North London Derby clash with Tottenham.

With an away trip to Manchester United also coming up, Arsenal will need to be at their best if they’re to win the title, and Odegaard’s performance against Chelsea showed that there’s still plenty of fight left in the Gunners this season.
