Man Utd wonderkid Shea Lacey shows he's a class act after U18 Premier League Cup win

Manchester United will love the character of Shea Lacey as he’s just proven he’s a real class act once again.

For Shea Lacey, this season will have been disappointing considering how much time he’s missed through injury.

But he returned to Manchester United action recently and has already experienced two silverware wins and triumphs with the U18s, with the Premier League Cup on Tuesday night being the latest.

He will now be looking to pick up as many minutes as he can at the end of this season before starting afresh in September.

The end of this season could even see Lacey called into the senior set-up, as reports have suggested he’s seen as ready to do so under Erik ten Hag.

But he’s not only doing excellent on the pitch but has once again shown how good he is off it.

Shea Lacey shows he’s a class act off the field

The U18s looked like they had a ball celebrating the U18 PL Cup triumph last night, but Lacey took time out to make one fan’s year.

In a video posted on X by Academy Arena Utd, Lacey can be seen signing a pair of his match-worn boots to give to a young supporter in the stands and also took a photo with him.

This is another example of Lacey being a top person off the pitch, almost as good as he is on it.

We already knew he was a class act though as he showed it in February when he gifted a fan at Carrington a pair of his boots, in exchange for some custom shin pads the fan brought to give Lacey.

For the United academy, things like this will be equally pleasing as his performances on the pitch and explains why already Lacey is a fan favourite despite only just turning 17.

Lacey shows why Manchester United are so high on him

Lacey has long been a name expected to go all the way at United, with his talent being generational among his age group.

On the pitch he has it all to be a success and that’s where the mentality and personality of a player comes into play.

Moments like this, along with how Lacey is a leader among his peers is proof he has the right personality and mentality to reach the heights we all think he’s capable of.

Lacey showing his class once again though is just a reason to be proud of him and the academy for not just creating excellent footballers but good people too.

Hopefully, we see him handed a debut at senior level this season.
