John Terry now shares whether he thinks Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season

John Terry has predicted whether Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season.

Alongside City, Terry also revealed where he thinks Arsenal and Liverpool will finish among the top three.

Previously, the Chelsea legend has showcased his admiration for the Sky Blues, admitting in January that due to the club’s dominant cycle, it will be difficult to catch up to them while describing them as an “incredible team.”

In January, John Terry also lauded Manchester City for how they do background checks on the players they sign.

Terry clearly seems to admire City as a club as well as a team.

However, the ongoing Premier League title race is one of the closest we have had in years, with perhaps Pep Guardiola’s men not looking like guaranteed favourites to get over the line.

Terry predicts whether Manchester City will win the Premier League

Arsenal earned a statement victory against Chelsea on Tuesday night, dismantling them in a 5-0 thrashing.

Mikel Arteta’s side have arguably played the best football out of any team in the league this season, scoring goals for fun while having the best defence in the country.

The Gunners showcased that they are well capable of going on a winning run until the end of the campaign, especially after gaining the confidence boost of obliterating their London rivals.

As for Liverpool, they too were far and away the better team against Fulham.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was back in the starting XI after returning from injury and scored a wonderful free-kick to cap off his return.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won 3-1 at Craven Cottage, despite resting Mohamed Salah.

Even so, John Terry was playing a game of ‘blind ranking’ [via Premier League on TikTok] and when Manchester City was the first team that emerged, he immediately placed them in first place.

Up next came Arsenal, who Terry placed in third place as he proceeded to put Liverpool as the runners-up.

John Terry must understand the value of experience in title races

In our view, one reason why John Terry perhaps backed Manchester City to win the league is because not many understand the value of experience in title races quite like he does.

When Chelsea won the league in the 2014/2015 season, Terry played every possible minute of the campaign, despite starting the campaign as a 34-year-old.

Four years ago, the Englishman had won the Champions League in a team full of ageing players like Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Didier Drogba.

As a result, with the serial winners Manchester City have like Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and Bernardo Silva to name a few, John Terry would naturally side with them to win such an experienced group to get the business done.

Having worked with a cutthroat winner in the same vein as Pep Guardiola in Jose Mourinho, the retired centre-back perhaps sees some of the values in the great Chelsea teams he was in this City side.
