Man Utd fans all saying same thing about Amad Diallo after Sheffield United win, they have one major complaint

Manchester United fans have made their feelings clear to Erik ten Hag about two players after the Red Devils completed a 4-2 comeback win at Old Trafford.

Premier League strugglers Sheffield United travelled to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening and stunned Manchester United in the first half of the contest.

United were placed on the back foot after Jayden Bogle opened the scoring for Sheffield United before Harry Maguire pulled back an equaliser before half-time.

Ben Brereton Diaz restored Sheffield United’s advantage only five minutes in the second half, with the Red Devils fighting back against Chris Wilder’s men.

However, Bruno Fernandes stepped up and pulled United level before the Portugal midfielder completed his brace from the spot-kick at Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund found the back of the net late in the second half and ended his goalscoring drought, with United sealing their victory over Chris Wilder’s side.

United are sixth in the Premier League table and are 13 points behind fourth-place Aston Villa, who have a match in hand over the Red Devils.

Despite their three points against Sheffield United, Erik ten Hag’s men are unlikely to secure a top-four finish and return to Champions League football for next season.

Amad Diallo overshadows Antony for Man Utd

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag opted to start Antony ahead of Amad Diallo for the Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

Antony was met with fierce criticism on the weekend after his controversial ear-cupping celebration in the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City at Wembley.

The 24-year-old Brazilian winger, who has broken his silence over his celebration against Coventry City, failed to impress with his display against Sheffield United.

Antony only managed 55 minutes before he was subbed off by Ten Hag and replaced with Amad Diallo, who impressed fans with his second-half cameo.

Diallo has struggled to secure regular first-team minutes at Old Trafford under Ten Hag this season, despite showing his raw quality on the pitch at times.

Speaking ahead of the Sheffield United match, Ten Hag explained why the 21-year-old United wonderkid has not featured more for him in the current campaign.

“Amad deserves it [to play more], but don’t forget he was injured for a long period of the season,” he said, as per the Metro.

“So, we rebuilt him, he’s now had some opportunities, he’s really contributed.

“But also, he played in a position that is not his best position, I would say. Started as a striker but then he has to play in the midfield, so he did well.

“But we have a number of players in that area, there’s big competition there, and actually he already has deserved more minutes I would say.”

Man Utd fans react to Diallo and Antony

United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, felt Diallo offered more to his side’s performance than Antony did at Old Trafford.

Red Devils supporters even called for Ten Hag to drop Antony and start Diallo for the Burnley clash at Old Trafford on Saturday.

One fan said: “55 seconds in and Amad Diallo has done more than Antony did in 55 minutes.”

Another commented: “The composure and control that Amad brings, Antony doesn’t have.”

Someone else wrote: “Amad again doing more than Antony. Guess who will start [on] the weekend?”

“Same exact team but with Amad instead of Antony [for the] next [match] please, Ten Hag,” a fourth tweeted.

While a fifth posted: “BTW, the cameo from Amad Diallo in the second half was clear of any performance of Antony, let this sink in.”

“Antony shouldn’t be starting ahead of Amad,” somebody else argued.

And a seventh simply said: “I don’t understand why Amad Diallo doesn’t start ahead of Antony.”
