Bruno Fernandes has just done something for the first time at Man Utd after brace vs Sheff Utd

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has just shown exactly how brilliant he is during the win over Sheffield United.

On Wednesday night, Manchester United put a woeful run of Premier League form with an exciting 4-2 win over Sheffield United.

It looked initially like it would be another disappointing evening for the Old Trafford crowd though as Sheffield went ahead twice before Bruno Fernandes took matters into his own hands.

The ‘Portuguese Magnifico’ continued his great form with another immense display as he bagged two goals and an assist.

Rasmus Hojlund was the player to be assisted by Fernandes which makes it clear that their falling out is definitely well and truly over.

Harry Maguire was also on the scoresheet in what turned out to be a decent result for United with a clear change in style from Erik ten Hag‘s side.

But his captain has now done something for the first time in his United career, here’s what…

Bruno Fernandes does something he’s never done before for Manchester United

For Fernandes, his three-goal contribution outing in this game is just the latest in a growing line of strong performances.

It means he now has seven goals and two assists in his last five games in all competitions.

This is a wildly impressive feat, and it’s also the first time that the Portugal international has scored in five successive games for United.

It’s the second time he’s scored in four consecutive league games, something he only managed once back in February 2021 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Fernandes has cut a frustrated figure recently, but this performance allowed him to crack a smile and now he’s enjoying his football, Burnley had better watch out on Saturday.

Fernandes now has 26 goal contributions this season, he’s been far from bad

It is bizarre the narrative around Fernandes as if you listened to fans and the media, you’d think he’d had a stinker of a campaign.

But in reality, he’s probably going to edge Diogo Dalot in the Player of the Year conversations which shows just how unfairly he’s treated.

Playing in a side which has had a horrid campaign, he’s still managed to rack up 15 goals and 11 assists, while being at the centre of every big moment.

His attitude on the pitch is also the only thing which has kept the club going at the lowest points of this season.

Give Fernandes his flowers.
