This kid Connor Zilisch is keeping busy. The young driver has put up a few more NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races on his schedule. Zilisch is seen as the next best thing in American motorsports, and for good reason, too.

This year as a 17-year-old, Connor Zilisch has already accomplished a ton. He has won a CARS Tour race, set the Truck Series qualifying track record at COTA and won a pole in his debut, finished P4 at COTA, and by the way – he won the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.

That is quite the resume in just a few months. He felt that his schedule between the Truck Series, Xfinity Series, ARCA, CARS Tour, IMSA, and Trans AM wasn’t enough as it was. So, Zilisch added a few more entries to it.

Zilisch had plans to race Talladega and Homestead-Miami later this season with Spire Motorsports. Now he will also race at Richmond, Bristol, and Martinsville in the second half of the season.

“It’s pretty hard not to be amped up when you get three more races with someone as talented as Connor Zilisch,” said Spire Motorsports crew chief Brian Pattie. “He’s shaping to be up to be a generational talent and to say he was impressive at COTA would be an understatement, at best. He’s proven that he can drive anything on four wheels so we’re definitely looking forward to having him back in our truck at Richmond.”

Of course, that won’t be his only NASCAR action. After he turns 18 years old this July, Zilisch has big plans. He will race four times with JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series. Watkins Glen, Kansas, Homestead, and Phoenix.

Connor Zilisch getting sponsorship from Trans Am team

Connor Zilisch has a lot of plans for the 2024 season. He will be doing it with a lot of support from Silver Hare Racing, who Zilisch races for in Trans Am. Maurice and Laura Hull have had a long relationship with the young phenom.

“It’s super exciting for me to be able to continue my relationship with Maurice and Laura [Hull] and everybody at Silver Hare Racing,” Zilisch said. “Obviously, they gave me my first opportunity in a stock car when I was 15 years old and took a chance on me at a young age, and that meant a lot to me.”

There have not been many drivers like Zilisch in recent years. He has already won one of the biggest karting championships in Europe. During his time overseas, he was on the F1 track. That was until Kevin Harvick noticed him one summer while watching his son Keelan race.

Ever since getting into stock cars, Connor Zilisch has thrived. Yes, he is a road course racer first. For now. But he’s already won a CARS Tour race in the Late Model Stock division. The top of that series is on par or just below the Xfinity Series when it comes to short track racing. We are going to see more good things out of him before the year is over.
