'It's very important': Heung-Min Son says there's one thing Tottenham cannot do v Arsenal this weekend

Tottenham can derail Arsenal’s title push this weekend and Heung-Min Son has insisted that something cannot change for his team.

Son will lead his Tottenham teammates into battle knowing full well that three points for Spurs will not only enhance their top four hopes, but ruin Arsenal’s title chances.

For South Korean star Son, he goes into the game as the experienced campaigner for Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou made the forward the skipper in the summer after Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane left.

It’s proven a smart decision, too. Son has starred, leading by example andimpressing his manager throughout the season.

And speaking about his Tottenham teammates and what they must do against Arsenal, Son insists that they cannot divert from the manager’s plan just because of the opposition.

Heung-Min Son says Tottenham cannot afford to change against Arsenal

Speaking to The Evening Standard, Son has insisted that Tottenham’s style of play cannot alter this weekend just because it’s Arsenal.

“We’re still a little bit inexperienced because we’re building a young team, some of them are in their first season in the Premier League. So look, we can test ourselves against one of the biggest teams in Europe and the Premier League. But also in the world,” Son said.

“So I think it’s very important the way we play: stick to our [style of] play, stick to our game. I think it’s a very, very good test. As I said, it’s against one of the best teams in the world so it’s perfect [for us]. You want to always have good competition and you always want to face the best teams in the world.”

Arsenal could run riot

While you have to admire the stance from Tottenham to not want to change things up, the fact is they could get hammered if they don’t.

Arsenal are in such fine form that they will come into the game expecting to win. Defensively, they are sound, and in attack, they have the pace and power to expose Tottenham’s high line.

We saw against Chelsea earlier in the season how Tottenham can be fragile against speed in attack.

If Arsenal can get it right this weekend, then they could well cruise past their bitter rivals with ease.

So, for all the posturing from Son here, surely Ange has to recognise the opposition and the situation and at least have plans afoot to combat the Gunners.

If not, it could be game over early on.
